FADO: Feedback-Aware Double COntrolling Network for Emotional Support Conversation

Emotional Support Conversation (ESConv) aims to reduce help-seekers’ emotional distress with a supportive strategy and response. It is essential for the supporter select an appropriate according feedback of help-seeker (e.g., emotion change during dialog turns, etc.) in ESConv. However, previous methods mainly rely on history ignore help-seeker’s feedback, causing wrong user-irrelevant predictions. Meanwhile, these only model context-to-strategy flow but pay less attention strategy-to-context involving strategy-related context generating strategy-constrained responses. In this paper, Feedback-Aware Double COntrolling Network (FADO) proposed make schedule generate The core modules FADO include dual-level selector double control reader, where former leverages turn-level conversation-level encourage or penalize strategies, latter constructs novel strategy-constrain Besides, dictionary designed enrich semantic information improve quality Experimental results ESConv indicate that achieves SOTA performance terms selection response generation.
